Dear First Name,
Today is the 43rd anniversary of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits the use of federal funding to pay for abortion services. By denying women who rely on Medicaid from having equal access to health care and reproductive options, the Hyde Amendment punishes women who are already economically vulnerable.
At CWLC, we continue to push for repeal of this harmful federal law and are proud to report that here in California, we continue to make real progress toward expanding women’s reproductive rights. At present, SB 24 is on Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk awaiting signature. This bill will make it easier for college students to access abortion by requiring UC and CSU campus health centers to offer it, and we need your help getting it signed.
Join CWLC in advocating for every woman’s access to care by taking two actions:
1. Post your support for repealing the Hyde Amendment today by using #BeBoldEndHyde
2. Email Governor Newsom to urge his signature on SB 24
Thank you for your ongoing support of women!
