Today is Latina Equal Pay Day, which marks the day in 2019 when the average wages paid to Latinas in the United States in 2018 finally catch up to what white, non-Hispanic men were paid in 2018.
In 2019, the average Latina makes just 54 cents for every dollar paid to the average white, non-Hispanic man.
This is the last Equal Pay Day of the year, indicating that Latinas are among the most adversely affected by the gender pay gap.
The California Women’s Law Center is dedicated to ending practices contributing to wage discrimination impacting Latinas and their families.
